Algebraic, Symplectic Geometry and Physics

December 15 - December 20, 2004

Pending financial support from the NSF, University of Miami plans to sponsor a conference -- Algebraic, Symplectic Geometry and Physics, December 15 - 20, 2004 at UM.

The conference will be focused respectively on

  • Understanding Kontsevich's approach for computing Gromov Witten invariants from Fukaya category.
  • Understanding Homological Mirror Symmetry for manifolds of general type.
  • Trying to extend Hori's and Vafa's approach of constructing Landau Ginzburg model to the case of generalized symplectic manifolds.

Financial support will, as always, be limited. Preferences will be given to young participants.

  • We will provide Room 301 in the Ungar Building during the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm for conference participants to check their e-mail.
  • A registration fee of $25 will be collected.
  • There will be a dinner Saturday night, December 18 at 7:00pm. Please visit the office in Ungar Room 515 if you are interested. There is a $30 fee for the dinner.
